Product description

Product Description

When pharmaceutical scientist David R. Hamilton, Ph.D., observed the results of tests on new drugs, he noticed that patients receiving control placebo pills reported the same level of improvement as those receiving the actual drug. Seeing this result repeat itself time and time again, he became fascinated by the mind-body connection and started to research the work of scientists, mystics, and healers working in this field. The result is this groundbreaking book, in which Hamilton explains how the mind and emotions can influence the well-being of your body and even the structure of your DNA. You’ll learn about: the physical impact of meditation, why sending healing thoughts to a person in need is so beneficial, the power of love and its impact on body cells, and all the many ways in which your thoughts affect you.

5.0 out of 5 stars Life-changing 7 September 2012
By Jennifer Plaza - Published on Amazon.com

I bought this book on the recommendation of a friend. My friend has long believed and espoused (and keeps trying to) what Dr. Hamilton said over and over in this book.

This book provides scientific evidence to what I think we've always thought---that our thoughts have the power to alter ourselves, other people, the world around us. That we are all connected.

I have not finished this book yet but I find myself thinking more and more about how I want to live out the rest of my life. I want to make it count. And I want to do better for me, so that doing that will have a good effect on the people around me. I intend to give my parents a copy of this book because the things/lessons in this book are what they've been teaching me all my life. Of course when I was a kid I hated being told what to do and didn't think my parents knew any better. But having gone through the experiences I've had, I don't doubt their effect and how it's shaped me to be the person I am now, and what Dr. Hamilton says in this book reinforces what I've long thought of but found difficult to believe.

If you want to give a gift to anybody, I suggest giving them a copy of this book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great messages 7 August 2010

I loved David Hamilton's book because, although I have enthusiastically embraced his message for years I have several doubting friends who struggle to understand --but who do want to --or want to understand why I am so positive and alive --I have purchased several to give to them and all came back to say that they were going to live with a greater awareness of their thoughts. This book had a very special impact on them. Thanks to David for a great book!! Pat S. in Montana

5.0 out of 5 stars One of the best books on the power of thoughts 2 April 2012

This is a simple and straightforward book on the power of our thoughts backed by solid scientific discoveries.
What i liked about it is the scientific and spiritual take
Also the author has covered almost everything in one book from genes to cells and the way our environment and perceptions affect our genes.and cells ..all in one book so after reading many other books on the same topic this was a brilliant summation of everything to do with thoughts.
Awesome book

4.0 out of 5 stars A very practical book. 30 November 2013

A re-affirmation of the power of positive thought, including summaries of research studies backing up the main points put forward by the main premise of the book. Very useful for readers who are well aware of the mind body connection but require some reminding.

Personally I used the information from this book for a workshop that I presented on mind-body healing. The author wrote a great book, full of information and research yet it was fun to read and reread. I'd recommend this book to everyone who wants to know more about how our minds work. My motto is "don't believe everything you think" :)
