Brilliantly crisp display
The high-resolution display (300 ppi) features sharp, dark text that reads even more like the printed page. The micro-etched glass screen is crafted to eliminate glare and feel like paper to the touch.
Effortless page turns
PagePress allows you to turn the page without lifting a finger. Simply apply pressure on the bezel to turn the page, and PagePress will provide a silent haptic response for consistent and immediate feedback.
Light that adjusts with you
Kindle Voyage can be read in sunlight or total darkness—and it's smart enough to know the difference. With an adaptive front light, Kindle Voyage senses the light in your environment and changes the setting to the ideal brightness.
Remarkably thin design
Comfortably hold Kindle Voyage in one hand for long reading sessions.
PagePress sensors with haptics
PagePress is a custom-designed force sensor made of carbon and silver, which reacts to a subtle increase of pressure, triggers a page-turn and provides a haptic response only your thumb can perceive. Because PagePress has no moving parts, the haptics provide you with the most minimal indication that you have pressed the button, to reduce distraction from reading.
Adaptive front light
In order to more closely resemble reading on real paper, we researched and hand-tuned the optimal brightness setting for every lighting condition. The adaptive front light automatically adjusts the brightness of the display based on your environment, and can even be fine-tuned further to your personal preferences. When reading in the dark, the adaptive front light slowly lowers the display’s brightness over time to match the way the eye responds to darkness.
An unsurpassed 300 ppi display
Kindle Voyage features the brightest, highest resolution, and highest contrast display of any Kindle. The micro-etched glass display diffuses light to eliminate glare and matches the feel of paper.
Sleek yet durable design
Kindle Voyage was designed to come one step closer to a sheet of paper, with a flush-front bezel for a clean, streamlined design. With a magnesium back and a chemically-reinforced glass front, Kindle Voyage is both durable and sleek.

I owned an old original Kindle, the model with the Keyboard back in the day. It was heavy and dim, and not high contrast and was great. It lasted me years. When I went to the states I decided to splash out and get a new one. Maybe it because of the tech jump from such an old version to such a newer one but I have had a fantastic experience with the Voyage.
The buttons to change page is very convinient. I tend to hold along the bottom corner of the screen which means I don't accidentally change pages, that said, it's so light I can comfortably hold it and then tense my grip a bit to turn the page. SO GOOD. I usually have it set at a really low low light and read from light that's available but reading on a dimly lit bus, the adaptive brightness is fantastic. The x-ray and dictionary functions have been fantastic (though I know by this stage a bit older of a feature).
It was a worthwhile purchase. I have no regrets. I keep it in my bag and have snuck in a lot more reading than I would've if I was forced to carry some of these books.
Helpful information: Calibre, is a great ebook library management tool that works great with kindle. ALSO there are some great chrome plug ins and other services that will send a webpage to your kindle or ebooks from other services. I've used calibre to format an unpublished work into kindle format and read it from there.
This Kindle Voyage is easy to hold, nice and light, and the screen is easy to read from. I like how easy it is to adjust the settings for the brightness and text size, although after working out my preferred settings, they now stay constant. I rarely use the buttons on the side of the Kindle Voyage to move forwards or backwards, but instead press the right or left side of the screen to move pages. This is because it requires less pressure and also because my hands normally sit lower than the buttons, so it's easier for me. Occasionally I use them though and they work fine, but I had expected this would have been a feature that I would have used all the time. The screen stays pretty clean too, especially with a cover when not being read. And it's got great battery life.
All three Kindles still work and my wife uses the Paperwhite now. The Keyboard has been pensioned off but still works well.
My only complaints about the Voyage are the positioning of the page turn buttons (as others have mentioned) which can make it awkward to hold, but I now just hold it by the edge (thumb on right hand edge and fingers behind) and that works well. The other complaint is that the genuine Amazon Leather covers are not available in Australia, they were for the Keyboard and the Paperwhite - I am suffering with third party covers that really don't cut it.
The Voyage is a great E-Reader but I think most people will find themselves more than happy with the Paperwhite.
My old kindle still works just fine ... but requires regular charging (I have been reading heaps lately).
The decision to buy a new Kindle was based solely on a plan to do some extended travelling into areas with no power, so I wanted extended times between the need to recharge.
After a few swear words as I learnt how to use the touch screen, my kindle and I were definitely besties.
I still haven't mastered the pagepress function on the side of the screen of this kindle but that is no big issue as I just use the touch screen to page turn.
I especially like its size fitting easily into my bag. I also like the screen as I read every night in bed and my previous kindle had a light attached to the cover which threw light across the room and into my husbands sleep zone...this new kindle is easy to read at night but does not interfere with my husbands sleeping.
