Most helpful customer reviews on Amazon.com
Having witnessed this travesty far too long, I one day began my Luciferian plan to plant the seeds nonconformism among the easily corrupted. It began slowly: "feel the weight of this thing", and "you know why you keep losing pencils? Cause you don't care about them. If you had a nice one however..."
Soon, I followed with more aggressive prodding: "How can you say you care about the quality of your work when you write with disposable junk? By the transitive property, your work is junk too!", and "you might as well write out your proofs in crayon!" Then, shame: "you write with 0.5mm? Why? Does 0.7mm hurt your dainty, delicate man-hands?"
Finally, an appeal to our collective struggle: "Brothers, these are the tools of our trade, our weapons in the fight against innumeracy and convolutions! You deserve better!"
By the time my work was done, I had enlisted five members into the cause, and they are now all straight A students. True story.
The tip of this pencil is sharp enough to poke holes in bouncy castles. Do not have in your pocket if you plan to go into bouncy castles! Also, said tip is perfect for popping animal balloons at kids parties.
***** UPDATE 2.0******
DON'T buy this pencil if you are 'Edward Scissor Hands' or a frustrated drummer and cannot hold a finely crafted tool in your hands for more than two seconds without dropping it. Or if you are a business major. Buy a fidget spinner instead.
Yes, the tip will bend if you drop it, and glass will break too...
So all the positive reviews about this pencil are on point. And all the reviews that explain how FRAGILE the tip is if YOU DROP IT.
I bought the first one to use Solely for writing down appointments into the Appointment book for our Business....NO PENS in the APP book..Ever.
It was a real treat to use a nice quality pencil for once, instead of cheapo plastic junk.
So these pencils are ALL the rave until you drop it....Even just once...its toast! The tip bends or breaks off completely
You have to be extremely careful to just not drop it at all, You can't.
**This is another addition to my original review. I just ordered and received another Rotring 600 0.7 mm for $13.99, and a Rotring 600 0.5 mm for $16.85. The first one I purchased for my son was $30, so I thought I'd get both since it was such a deal. I thought I was getting a great deal until my order arrived. When the two arrived, all I got was an empty sleeve for the 0.5 one! There was nothing in it. I don't understand how that mistake was made, as it is immediately obvious just by the weight each one (to Amazon's credit, they are replacing it). Also, I noticed right away that the packaging was different. The first one came in a sturdy triangle-shaped box that folds in 3D and tucks into itself. These came in flimsy sleeves, where the pen just slides out. Upon further inspection, I noticed Japanese writing on the box. In reading other forums, it seems the Rotrings made in Japan and Russia are inferior to the ones from Germany. Some even said the weight was different. I've ordered one for $33 from Jetpen that looks like packaging is like the original one I purchased from Amazon for my son, and when it comes I will compare them to see if they are different. If they are, I will be very disappointed. There is no mention of this being manufactured elsewhere in the description that Amazon provided. I think they should warn people. No wonder it was so much cheaper! This is the first purchase I've ever been disappointed in from Amazon.
