This book was not what I was expecting, but I thoroughly enjoyed it! It starts off a bit slowly, but you go on a real journey with the characters, until suddenly, you look back and realise how far you've all come. It was sweet and inspiring, and a beautiful reminder to look and appreciate what's around you. There were, perhaps, a few punctuation mishaps, but nothing major. I would highly recommend it!
A wise and heartwarming story that engages the reader from page one. I love this author!
Milly Finch has been so focused on her fashion journalist career that she has let everything else go. Her friends, her family, her wonderful boyfriend, Jed. With her head down, scrolling constantly on her phone, she doesn't even notice the big red London bus, until it knocks her down. Waking up from a coma, her family are relieved that she has survived her injuries. Then in walks Jed Matthews. Tech billionaire, Jed has been out of Milly's life for four years now. He's still a stunning man and has the kindest heart. When he offers a room for Milly to live in while she gets her life in order, she has no choice but to accept. The weeks and months that follow bring Milly to a whole new understanding about what's important in life. Sharing a home with Jed has been wonderful, but for Christine, Jed's girlfriend, who will do anything to get rid of Milly.
First one I've read by this author......& it certainly won't be the last. It kept me engaged from the first page to the last (&, given that chick lit's not my genre of choice, that's good going!). Absolutely loved Hector & I think part of my enjoyment of the book was the importance looking after Hector was given. A really lovely, kind & enjoyable read; just what's needed given the s**tshow we're all mired in at present.
An excellent read! I love reading romance novels and couldn't wait to start this one. Thoroughly impressed with the story, setting was lovely the supporting cast were brilliant and I loved how Jed was written. Milly and Jed 's story was lovely. The ending was brilliant. Now if Maxine would write Dimitri s story with his POV. The only thing I would ask is if Maxine could consider writing the hero's POV. Eagerly waiting the next book from a fantastic author.
What a wonderful story! I actually found myself rooting for Milly. I know she has her failings at the start, but she is a lovely character whose journey i was so invested in, and I so wanted things to work out for her. xx
I loved this book.Read it within two days. I loved all the characters but Milly particularly and her dawning realisation that there was far more to life than what she thought there was! highly recommend. likedthe epilogue too!
Again, Maxine manages to sweep the reader up and away in this wonderful book. The characters are relatable and I quickly turned the pages to find out what happened next. Love all of Maxine's books, can't wait for the next book!
