I really liked the first three books of the series. The fourth got a bit painful with cliffhangers being left for 30 minutes of reading before the story moved on. This book took that to a more extreme level, but more importantly the characters stopped behaving the way I'd come to expect, they made ridiculous decisions, and there were multiple chapters that just had internal monologues which were utterly pointless. I gave up halfway, went back to it when I realised I had nothing new to read, but then gave up two thirds of the way through when another outrageous decision occurred. A real, real pity.
