Amazing. No Rain. No Flowers.
22 January 2020
Vi Keelands books are always a one click buy for me however I think ‘Inappropriate’ is my favourite to date, in fact its my favourite book that I can recall from any author. It may be a funny, sweet and sexy standalone romance but it’s so much more deeper than that - it really is one of a kind.
Ireland gets wrongfully fired from her job and unknowingly runs into the CEO after sending him a very drunken (hilarious) email. Grant surprises himself and finds Ireland irressistible. He's kept his emotions on lock down for years and his chance meeting with Ireland has turning into love sick puppy alpha, even though he really is holding back. The heat between these two simmers and while they take their time the push and pull is hilarious...
““Ummm… You’re going to carry me to the line?” “I am. Keeps you from stopping to look at s*(^ and gets us to trying out the new bedding faster.” I giggled. A few people stared at the handsome man carrying a woman and his purchases, but either Grant didn’t notice or didn’t give a s^*$. “You realize you look like a Neanderthal.” “That’s the way you make me feel, sweetheart. Don’t worry. I’ll make up for my ungentlemanlike behavior when we get home.” Home. He’ll make it up to me when we get home. I liked the sound of that for a lot of reasons.’’
But once things go from heat this turns into a very mature and complicated love story between Grant and Ireland. In fact it became quite heart breaking and beautiful as both their pasts had been so hard and yet they were both trying... as per Ireland’s mantra “No rain. No flowers.”
Vi took the topic of mental health and wrote it so beautifully and respectfully. My heart broke for Grant and I understood his stance so much better once we get the story of what he went through. But when he forgives himself and opens up it is such a pleasure to read...
“You missed the sunrise this morning. I thought you watched either a sunset or a sunrise every day as a reminder that good things in life can be simple?” Grant cupped my cheeks. “That was the past. I realize now that not all the good things in life are simple. Some of the best things are complicated, but beautiful and worth all the risk. I don’t need to watch every sunrise or sunset for a reminder that good exists anymore. I have you.”
This story will give you laughs and sexy times but it will also give you raw pain and show you how the act of forgiveness can help heal. I loved Ireland, pops, Leo and the bestie, Mia and well Grant was just amazing...Just like ‘Inappropriate’. Thank-you Vi for your gift.
