An entertaining and rollicking fun read

A gutsy undertaking. A fabulously rollicking read. As far as alternative universes go, this one was a wildly fun one to be a part of, particularly at a time when our current reality seems eerily dystopian. I put it in the same category as Taffy Brodesser-Akner‘s Fleishman is in Trouble: it’s playful, self-aware and offers a subtly fierce critique of sexism. But it also doesn’t shy away from questioning how far society still has to go with addressing inequality and intersectionality. Sittenfeld’s depictions of prominent and familiar American political figures were a particularly fun inclusion. Overall, it was a deliciously addictive and refreshing page-turner.
