I love her style of storytelling, although sometimes the details are too involved and I have to take a short break for my head to catch up to what’s going on but I love it all the same.
We go to new depths of Ashira as she really gets into her ‘friendship’ with Levi, Priya comes into danger because of Ash, and her Mother’s action feel like a betrayal. Ash also finally finds out what it means to be a Jezebel, and what the fight with Chariot is about. As well as constantly negotiating with The Queen at each interaction, there’s more to this magic thing than Ash bargained for.
As for cliffhangers! I get to the end of all of Deborah’s books and keep turning the page, hoping for another page, or chapter or even just a tease at what’s to come. But there’s nothing. She’s really tight lipped about all her books but I think that just adds to the anticipation.
I really love the Jewish mythology this world is based on. It's s very cool idea. The curious incident of the angel of death was a fun read. I only didn't give 5 stars because I was slightly frustrated by the way Levi and Ash are still dancing around each other. But I'm sure thst will resolve in time.
Good story. Interesting, exciting, fun, with a good pace. The dialog is smart, well written and flows smoothly. The characters are fascinating, captivating, quirky, engaging and well developed. I look forward to reading more of this series.
