Om my word! The much anticipated latest release from Tijan was phenomenal. I absolutely devoured it. It’s now past midnight and I have just finished. So much of everything. Love, hate, angst, trauma and it all rocked. It’s definitely a must read!
From childhood best friends and unfortunate experiences To lies being told to cover up issues and innocent people losing their livelihoods to death — this title captures it all .
Join Stone and Dusty on this amazing journey to healing in this friends - Enemies - Friends & Lovers to so so so so so much more than you can imagine in your wildest dreams.
When I began reading I was struck by the words and the emotion of Dusty’s journey in this novel. I’ve through my lifetime felt many of the thoughts and feelings that Dusty expressed and often experienced including those that Stone discussed.
Fighting the negative ego and perceived thoughts and feelings from both main characters at integral stages of their lives Truths are unmasked and revealed
Fate is always present in the background setting plays into motion for the unrequited love
Highly recommended Well Done Tijan For a book amazingly put to get her
Friends to enemies to lovers and all the drama and heartache inbetween. This story had so much going on, mAking it impossible to put down. The drama, the fight and the sorrow in the main characters story is intense. I loved every minute of this book.
And Tijan does it again! Love Dusty! Love Stone! Awesome names right?? Another book to add to my future re-reads list (majority being Tijan). Highly recommend this book and ALL others by this author. #alwaysavidfan #enemiesforever
Dusty is an incredibly resilient character, she’s already had a lot of hardship in her short life and she tries to deal with it as it comes but she hasn’t processed it all yet. She’s also very stubborn- she hasn’t had another best friend since she lost Stone in the sixth grade, she doesn’t want to open herself up to that again. Because she’s had people use her in the past to get to Stone, she also now has trouble making friends. When it comes to the friendship aspect of this book, I was super happy with the friends that stood up for her along the way- they understood what a little bit of fame was like and had her back when times got hard.
Stone has kinda had his head in the sand in regards to his family. He just wanted to get out and play football, so that’s what he did. He didn’t want to leave Dusty behind but that’s what happened. I don’t think he ever really hated her, I think he knew she was his weakness and he wasn’t ready to give in to her until he could give her everything. It was just sad that he wasn’t there for her when she was losing everything.
The emotion that Tijan can bring out in a book is incredible. I could feel the tears building, next thing I’m bawling my eyes out. I wasn’t sure who to trust either. Dusty met many people along the way that seemed suspicious and who might use her, but I didn’t expect her truest supporters to be who they were. As with all Tijan books, I already want to read this again.
Gosh Dusty had a tough life. So very hard and she was so very strong. What an amazing survivor. I liked her so much. I have to say I did not like Stone for what he did to Dusty when they were younger, what a douche but he definitely won me over as the story progressed and you had to love him by the end. His parents not so much.
This was gritty and real even down to the mean girls but I liked how everyone and the story evolved.
I am so glad we got the extra epilogues nothing worse than going on that long journey and getting short changed by a quick ending so thank you for the great ending and the bonus epilogues. I would have liked more of course 😀 since I came to love all the characters so much and was sad to say goodbye.
I absolutely love college romance and even more when it's a sports college romance!! Dusty and Stone have made my 2019. This was by far my favourite book of the year. Dusty is a little bit broken and back when they were kids, Dusty and Stone were inseparable. Then things fell apart and Dusty has nothing but hate for Stone. Stone is currently living his life as a famous wide receiver in the new NFL team in town. He's also popular and wealthy, everything Dusty is not. Dusty is once again hit with tragedy, but Stone finally pulls his head out of the sand from all their family issues and steps up to give her someone to lean on.⠀ I LOVE LOVE LOVED this book and 5 stars!!! I received an ARC for an honest review... and hell yes i'm going to buy my own copy to support Tijan, but damn, you wont be disappointed if you read this!⠀
I am a big, big, big Tijan fan. I will read anything and everything she decides to release. But I am practically in seventh heaven when that new release just happens to be a sports romance novel. That it is football only makes it better in my opinion. I love books when the two main characters were best friends, then end up as enemies. But the best part to me about this trope is when they finally become lovers. Each author has their take on it, and Tijan's is nothing short of a masterpiece with Stone & Dusty's story. Only thing that could make this story better is if she decided that this was the first book in a new series. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced readers copy of this book
