A easy read for a couple of hours. The plots stretch credibility but are entertaining. I had trouble reconciling the up to date methods with the old fashioned action and behaviour.
The main character, DI Michael Angel, is a Jack the lad who is a good investigator with outdated views on women. The other characters aren't developed
The start of the book is confusing and I nearly stopped reading after the first chapters. I just decided to see what would happen and put up with the distractions including a slew of naff sayings including "shorn like an outback sheep".
This book combines a couple of plots. A crime family is involved in bank robbery and other bad stuff. There is a witness protection incident. A murder happens at a country club by a masked intruder threatening a couple. Plus Angel has a new boss to get round.
If you treat this book as a bit of escapist fiction you will enjoy it.
