Breaker is a romantic story that involves all the key elements of a good love story: childhood crush, unrequited love and brother's best friend. The writing style of Breaker is very descriptive and the story is sweet, but it also has some steam and heat!
I couldn't help but fall in love with these characters. Sutton has returned from college, but her attraction to Grady is still as strong as it was four years earlier. Grady has had a rough childhood; the only bright spark in his life has always been his best friend's sister. He is determined to keep his distance though, believing she deserves better than the small town nobody he thinks he is. I enjoyed the "happy something" that starts each chapter of Breaker. It ties the story together and continues the sweet and romantic feel of the story. It helps to remind the reader of the history that this couple share.
I found the story entertaining, yet it was very predictable. I would have liked a bit more twists or turns, but I would still recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a traditional love story.
Breaker is a standalone novel by Harloe Rae. This is the first book I've read by this author and it was AMAZING!
I fell so in love with Grady and Sutton. I could not get enough of them, they had me swooning all over the place with their story. They had chemistry like no other and all the happy somethings and steam left me feeling giddy.
I could not put this down, it was packed with so much emotion and gave me so many feels. I adored Harloe's words and I will definitely be going back to read more of her books.
Grady is the kid who had a terrible up brining. Sutton is the girl who had everything. Brought together by the circumstances and ya know, an older brother who happens to be Grady's best friend.
The rocky start to this story had me wondering what kind of loop Harloe was gonna throw in later on. The massive Gent Vibes early on (if you've read Harloes previous work you'll know what I'm talking about) had me hooked, it was like stepping back into my favourite story with new characters, but at the same time there was so many vibes from a few of her other work. Harloe's writing style is consistent yet the content of her stories are forever evolving.
Her characters were sickly sweet but also firmly planted in the down to earth spectrum.
Everything about this book was just all about them feels. There was no whiplash, everything was straight up. No conflict in Sutton and Grady just made falling in love with them that much easier.
With each new release from Harloe Rae its getting harder and harder to keep Gent in the number one spot 😅
Happy Something # Breaker made me so happy! Breaker was another hit by Harloe Rae her stories only keep getting better and better! Breaker had all the feels for me, still swooning over Grady and so loving Sutton! Sutton & Grady complete each other in every way! Perfect epilogue's! A must read!
Grady has loved Sutton for what feels like forever. Sutton returns Grady's feelings but he pushes her away. So Sutton goes off to college. 4 years later and it takes Grady getting hurt and Sutton taking care of him to open his eyes. A brilliantly written story with excellent characters and a happy ending guaranteed.
I loved Grady and Sutton! I loved the realness of their journey. It's a traditional love story but deals with real life issues of today...rough family upbringing.. feeling inadequate, accepting love, trust, forgiveness, justice, and facing life head on! Loved this book so much 5/5
Couldn't put it down! The story was just the cutest of a pair meant to be together but having to face all the challenges that life throws in their direction. I found that I enjoyed this book so much that I couldn't point what was going to happen next, nothing worse than knowing the plot before it happens. I loved that I got a surprise with each page
Older brothers best friend, doesn't think he deserves the only girl who adds a little happiness to his life in fear of dragging her down. A girl who is desperately in love with one boy despite his best efforts to sabotage her desire for him. It's a cute and emotional, I liked it.
