Cruel Boy was mindblowing
28 September 2019
From the moment I started reading CRUEL BOY I knew that it was going to blow my mind. The writing was flawless, the story impeccable, the characters strong ... this was going to be powerful. This was going to be Clarissa Wild at her ultr best. I wasn't wrong.
Nate Wilson has a secret, one that could destroy his life ... or so he thinks. The is another onbe who knows his secret, Samantha "Sam" Cook ... and she has hard evisdence, evidence that could be extremely damaging. It takes a long time for the secret to be revealed, but that's what makes this book so fascinating. It allows for the tension to build throughout the story keeping you fully captivated ... it makes you WANT to read, WANT to know what the secret is.
Even though Nate and Sam acted as though they were sworn enemies, there was an underlying electrical current that was continually drawing them together. I really loved these two, they were dealing with a difficult situation in the only way they knew how. Their relationship is far from pretty, in fact at times it gets really ugly, but there is something that continually draws themto each other. No matter how nasty Nate is to Sam, she is able to stand up to him, to the point of even surprising him with her actions. Not everything is nasty though, they do share some really tender moments that will rip your heart out. you can't help but hope that these two get some form of a happy ending.
This was a phenomenal read from Ms Wild. It was dark, edgy and twisted, yet it was also a journey of self-discover, hope and love. There were numerous twist, some that were completely jaw dropping, even the events of the fateful night were not as I expected.
Definitely another Clarissa Wild masterpiece. Read it and you'll see.
