I’m think Cap and Ruby really are my favourite Billionaire love story from Max Monroe (with Kline and Georgie coming in a very close second). I’m always curious how authors will portray a side character in their own book and who will be their love interest. I think these two worked a charm. As for when Cap has to come grovelling? I loved what you guys did there, it was soo sweet and fitting for their story. Even my husband commented about how much I laughed out loud while reading this book!
I love the brand of humour from Max & Monroe. I found myself chuckling right from the sassy intro. Caplin is a player and Ruby knows it. She does everything she can to resist him, but over the weeks, he finally gets to her, and she lets her barriers down. Just in time for ole Cap to stuff-up mightily. It's rather fun watching him try to put things right again, though.
Dare I say it but Cap just overtook Thatch as my favourite billionaire. This book is laugh out loud funny to the point of tears mixing with laughter. Thoroughly enjoyable and can I just say the intervention performed by all our favourite billionaires on Cap was comedy gold - the best thing I have ever read. Not to mention the first meeting of Ruby and Cap at the law library - absolutely priceless - so so funny. Well done Max and Monroe you have done it again!
Max Monroe does it again with another funny as heck book! I motherfluffing loved every minute of it!
I have been waiting for Caplin's book since the start of this series and he does not disappoint.
From the very first moment Ruby and Cap meet I was laughing so much. I absolutely loved these two together. The flirting, sexual tension and witty banter was crazy good with some sweet moments and sexy times. I could not help but fall for them.
I loved seeing all our other billionaire boys get in the mix and help our man Cap get the girl. I was cackling so much during those book club scenes.
I loved it so much I can't get enough of these billionaires!! So excited to get my hands on the next book coming in this series!

I've been trying a lot of new to me authors lately, looking for someone to blow me away, and I admit Max Monroe has come close with The Billionaire Book Club. I enjoyed how the relationship grew throughout the story and that Caplin was willing to work hard to win Ruby over.
Ruby didn't want anything to do with Caplin to begin with, she turned him down at their first meeting, however Caplin was determined to see her again. When he presented an offer to Ruby that was hard to refuse, it was inevitable that these two would get together, but Ruby didn't make it easy for Caplin.
I liked that Ruby was a strong and goal driven character. I could see that she didn't let people in easily and had a hard time believing that Caplin was genuine. Caplin made me laugh, he had a fun personality and wasn't too serious outside of business. When they were together I loved seeing them banter and not hold back. The tension between them was brewing and I could see how good they would be together!
I liked that Caplin had a good support crew around him, where their weekly poker night soon turned into a Book Club. They were willing to support Caplin in his pursuit of Ruby and offered all sorts of advice. I can see that there are other books to read relating to these other men, and I'm looking forward to reading more of Monroe's work. She certainly created characters that I genuinely adored and I enjoyed how entertaining and light this read was!
4 1/2 stars Ah Caplin! His story has intrigued me from the get go. But first I must mention the Dedication- I love it... an absolute crack up on its own!
The whole idea of an all male book club isn’t strange but the reasoning behind is and the results hilarious. It’s actually a genius concept by these writers. One reason why I gave it an extra half a star. Thatch’s mother-fluffing reactions to the contemporary romances is priceless.
Caplin Hawkins, the playboy of New York doesn’t believe in commitment. As a very successful corporate lawyer he is used to working hard and playing hard. He knows he’s good looking, is extremely self-confident and enjoys a full spread of willing women. Ruby Rockford is a fabulous character, I love her sassy comebacks, quick wit and feisty nature. Her stubbornness helps her in many ways and her inner strength allows her to do things others mightn’t. Plus... she challenges Cap!
The outstanding sense of humour in this book makes you literally laugh out loud, I think I frightened the sleeping cat and dog this time! However, in amongst the fun banter between characters is honesty at its best, for example here when Cap is talking to his assistant who’s on maternity leave. “Look, if you really want to, we can talk about you and your maternity leave later,” I say. “I’ll even pretend to listen. I’m really good at it...” 😂 It might not tickle everyone’s funny bone but it sure does mine and another reason I gave it the extra half a star. Caplin is so mega egocentric!
Ruby warns reads about Cap in the prologue... just saying... heed the warning! What a scoundrel! 😉
