A light hearted read
7 October 2019
It was quite a refreshing change to come across a book where SHE was a billionaire, usually it's the guy, not only that, she can kick butt phyically and verbally, go Emily.
It took me a bit to warm up to either of the main characters. For the first few chapters she came across as "it's all about me", and don't even get me started on a guy who thinks it's okay to expose himself univited to a woman, NO just NO.
I don't really buy that Derek has a British accent, unless he spent time living in the UK as a child that would be pretty unlikey.
I figured out who the villian of the piece would be pretty early on, but still, I did enjoy how the plot played out, it certainly had it's gut churning "oh no" moments.
There were some good side characters too, (Jane was a stand out) and it looks like all the billionaire ladies get their own stories, so I'll look forward to those.
