I was so excited to read this story as I really liked what I'd seen of Rose in Tangled Vines and The Problem with Perfect. It didn't disappoint! Although this sweet story can very easily be read as a standalone, it brings everything together for anyone who's read the other two books, rounding out the series beautifully. Rose is extremely easy to like and I found myself firmly on her side throughout the story as she falls for Noah. Who wouldn't fall in love with a handsome young doctor who saves your life!! But Rose soon discovers that there's so much more to him than this. Rose's mother, Odette, was a really nice surprise as I hadn't expected her to be such a main character and I thoroughly enjoyed seeing her work through her issues and find peace within herself. Just like the other books in this series, A Spoonful of Sugar is a layered story about all types of relationships, not just the romantic sort.
This is the third book in the Doyal family series and it tied up some loose ends that I'd been wondering about. An easy and super enjoyable read - I think Rose is my favourite character - she's joyous and easy to love and yet she's got quite a path to walk. It was fun to re-visit her siblings and see them in their happy ever after states as well :D
