This was a fun read. Although the topic of a kidnapped child is a dark subject it was handled well. Mumma is on the warpath and god help any monster or government agency who gets in the way of a safe recovery. Speaking of government agency the Portuguese monster control agency has a very unfortunate acranam which gave for some funny one liners. Plenty of action as Julie rampages across Europe trashing long standing understandings between old Europe and the monsters who have come to arangements with host governments. My favourite character in this one was Mr Trashbags Julie's pet shoggoth. Eager for the next entry.
I missed the MHI team and it seemed to take me a while to get into the book. That was probably just me though. By time I I was a third(?) of the way into it, everything was back to a typical Correia story. Well done to both authors
This book is told from Julie's point of view and takes us on a journey as she seeks to retreive her stolen son. We meet a number of past villians from the previous books in the series. I enjoyed the way the story was told, there were a few twists. All in all an enjoyable read.
