Woohoo another Vi Keeland novel has hit my kindle! Happy dance!
And what is it with Vi's hot AF covers. I mean, hellloooo #backporn!
This is my second older-woman-hot-younger-man book I have finished this week. Gives all us old ducks a bit of hope lol. It's all "How Valentina got her groove back"
Ford and Valentina's story is fun, flirty and sexy. There are also a few sad moments thrown in too.
Now, this book was not good for my diet, as every time I read about Montauk, I think of all the Montauk Bake Shoppe and all it's delicious goodies that I keep hearing about lol
All Grown Up is one of those books that I adored from the first word to the last. I didn't want to put this one down, staying up way too late and getting up early, just so I could fit another chapter in.
Thank you Vi Keeland for giving us Ford... oh, and Valentina!
What a lovely book, so well written with warm characters. Valentina is gorgeous and OMG every woman needs a Ford in their life. I read many books on Kindle and very few are very good. This very good story is of divorced Valentina who has only know her husband and raising a son, meets Ford on Match.com when her best friend is trying to get her back into the dating scene. A few interesting quirks, she is 37 and he is 25. He also is the son of their neighbours at their beach house. On the surface this will never work, however the way this relationship develops is truly lovely and has been the best read I have had for a very long time. This is the first book I have read by this author, it won’t be the last. Well done!
Valentina or Val naturally had reservations dating a man 12 years her junior, especially after she realises that he was the boy next door, only a few years older than her son. But thankfully Ford perservered and worked on her "this is inappropriate"-ness (I know it's not a phrase), and with the help of Mrs Peabody his psychic elderley friend, he saw clearly where this relationship was headed. He just needed for Val to get onboard. Of course things don't always go to plan and hearts get broken. I loved these two characters, their story unfolded naturally, nothing was forced or rushed and the chemistry was believable. Ford's life experiences and maturity placed him older than his 25 years, something Val grew to realise.
Another positive with Vi's books is that they have been edited and you'll be hard pressed to find any spelling or gramatical errors - such a nice change! This is my 8th book of Vi's and she hasn't let me down yet 🤗
I was a little sceptical with the story line of this book until page 2 and I was hooked. Val and Ford were addictive characters and I could've kept reading their love story for days. Vi's books have such a clean plot I had to stop myself skipping pages just to see what happens. Fantastic read!
The scenario laid out in this book was very unique; Val coincidentally reuniting with an old acquaintance on a dating site...an old acquaintance that is somewhat younger than Val...an old acquaintance that is somewhat younger than Val and friends with her son...the set-up was nothing short of delicious and I couldn't wait to read the twists and turns and eventual outcome of this reunion!
As usual, Vi didn't disappoint with writing truly interesting characters, even the minor ones. I seriously wanted to be best friends with Val and empathized with her every step of the way.
What I also found interesting was Val's age, and I've seen this as a growing trend, writing books featuring ladies in their 30s. So, that's where I'm at and I love reading about it!
All in all, this was just a REALLY really great contemporary romance that I thoroughly enjoyed reading!
(I was given this book in consideration of my honest thoughts)
As always Vi Keeland has written a phenomenal book which I totally love! You will just love Valentina and Ford. All Grown Up is the perfect story and while we watch Ford and Valentina fall in love, you can’t help but fall in love with these guys too.... Valentina is divorced, starting over at 37 and her first date in 20 years is with the very hot Ford Donovan. Their attraction is off the charts but the twelve year age difference is one of the things she’s not comfortable with. Any kind of internal monologue she has about resisting him seems totally futile. This story was funny, sweet and swoony, and the plot was an absolute winner.
All Grown Up by Vi Keeland is a standalone contemporary romance that is simply more proof as to why I keep this amazing author on my Must-Read list of authors. The older woman/younger man romance between Ford and Valentina is emotional, hard-won, steamy, and phenomenal. Told in dual POV between Ford Donovan and Valentina Davis, this isn't just a love story between two people with big hearts and beautiful souls, it's about a divorced woman in her late thirties getting her life in order, setting goals, achieving dreams and about the mature and wise young man who is strong enough to let her spread her wings. The push and pull, the awkwardness of realizing they know each other, of their age difference, of learning not to care what others think and only caring about those who matter. Well-written and perfectly-paced this was an absolutely awesome read that had me swooning all over the place. Enjoy!
