Do you know the line- ‘If you love something set it free, if it comes back it’s yours, if it doesn’t, it never was.’ About half way through this book all I could think was this line.
With Pretty Venom, Ella broke my heart before gently piecing me back together again. With Forever and Never, Ella obliterated me. I haven’t cried this much in ages. Before she stitched me back together. I love that it was Lars’ Mum that took him down a peg or two and made him see what was right in front of him.
I truly felt for Daphne from the start of this book. Her teenage issues were similar to mine at the time, so I understood a lot of her emotional state all the way through.
This book is a work of emotional art and angst. It will stay with you for a long time to come. And yet I still look forward to more of Ella’s books.
If you enjoy pure love that has to battle through heartache and all the angst, you will love this book and Ella fields in general. I loved these two and their story, I'm still trying to deal with all the emotions this story made me feel. It's a must read and in my top 5 books of 2019 so far.
Forever and Never from Ella Fields broke me. Like, literally broke me. When I finished I didn’t know which way was up ... My heart was both broken and full and this one goes straight into my Forever Favourites.
It’s only the second time in my life I’ve been tempted to flick to the end of a book. My heart was pounding so hard & I needed answers. I resisted. Just.
Daphne and Lars destroyed me in the best possible way. This story is the kind of NA Angst that makes my reader heat beat a little harder. Characters this author conjured from thin air left me battered - feeling like I not only knew them, but genuinely cared about them and I was left feeling desperate for them to get their hard fought HEA.
It’s no secret I fangirl this author’s work and storytelling like this is why. Her ability to draw me completely into a story in such a way everything else falls away is a rare gift. That is why she could write any genre and I would follow her down the path - because at the end would be her words. Simple as that.
If you like your stories jam packed with teenage bad decisions, first loves that will have you swooning and screaming and moments that will have you gasping out loud then this one’s for you. Enjoy the ride!
Wow. This book. Wow. Ella Fields you are in a league of your own. It is very rare for me to get so caught up in a book that I ignore the real world and miss my bus stop. But lady you managed... twice. Daphne and Lars' story was introduced in Kiss and Break Up, and you knew there was going to be more to this story. And i am so glad there was. It was every bit of angst that we wanted, craved and deserved. And more. It is hard to write this review, because my words pale in comparison and definitely don't do this book justice. This is a big claim, but I think this is Ella's best book yet. Please please please give us the next one soon!!
Yet another amazing book from Ella Fields, she is fast becoming one of my go to authors as she never lets me down in the emotional angst stakes when you read one of her books, she is just brilliant.
This story was full and I mean full of all sorts of different emotions that pulled at my heart strings endlessly. This is Daphne and Lars story and it will melt your heart but not before it has you threatening to throw your kindle at the wall in sheer frustration. The first part of this book was all about the two main characters, their upbringing and their families, how they were both dealing with growing up and also about what they felt for each other and how that was delivered to us the reader. It was all consuming to be honest and sometimes very intense which I loved. Both characters were a pleasure to get to know but Lars is the one that stuck out in this book for me. He was if you like the underdog compared to Daphne in a way. Lars is not well off and lives with his Mum who works late shifts all night to keep their head above water. He's a typical young lad; has friends, smokes, drinks and has adored Daphne from afar for as long as he can remember. Daphne is a different kettle of fish. She wants for nothing and comes from a good upstanding family, she at first comes across as a stuck up, spoilt young lady but as the story progressed I did see Daphne in a different light all together. It was like watching a chrysalis turn into a butterfly and I found it extremely rewarding. The chemistry, the push and pull between these two young people was written so well that I had no trouble what so ever in connecting and loving these two people.
As the book went on I got so engrossed in both of them I found it really hard to put the book down at all. I loved the way the story developed and at one point I wasn't sure which way the outcome was going, honestly I was biting my nails down to the quick !!
An epic piece of work from Ella James that was beautifully written with addictive characters. This is young adult genre that Ella is so good at writing. I really recommend this book to add to your TBR pile as soon as possible. Wonderful !!!!
