This book is brutal. This book is heart wrenching. This book is an absolute smoulder.
Cruel Prince hit me in the feels in ways I hadn’t felt in any other book. It brought back memories I hadn’t thought of in a while. I had a connection with a certain character that ran deeper than any other. I haven’t ready many bully romances because I’m not a real fan of them. I read this one though because the blurb captured me. A. Jade took a popular trope and lifted it up a million notches into… something…. there are literally no words to describe it that will really do it any justice.
I’m still amazed as I write this review at how she managed to make me love a trope I usually don’t care for. And that is a credit to her skills. If an author can make you change your opinion of something, then you know you have an author that will forever be sitting on your shelf. Honestly, I reckon I would read company manual if she wrote it.
The characters she created are strong, flawed, fragile and vulnerable. They are written in such a way it’s as if she is them. She taps into something and then uses that to write perfection. I love how she pushed passed the barriers, the afflictions other characters usually suffer from and gives you something that is true. relevant and not commonly written about. I loved that. Give people topics that are confronting and make them see.
I think the thing that has made this book one of my shared number one book of 2019 is the diversity in this book. It’s refreshing, and in my opinion, there’s not enough of it in books, especially with main characters.
OMFG! Damn this story had me totally addicted, I was just going to read a few chapters before bed but the next thing I know it was 4am and there was no more pages. Such a rollercoaster of feelings, I laughed, I got sad and I was dying for them to get their HEA.
Cruel Prince is angsty and nail bitingly good. Dylan is not one to back down from others and will stand her ground. She is sarcastic, loyal and has such mental strength. Jace is very protective of his brothers and sister, but when tragedy strikes he becomes cold and an alpha a-hole and will give anyone hell who crosses that line.
I absolutely loved this story and want to reread it already. I am so excited for the rest of the series, it is going to be one rollercoaster of emotions.
Absolutely loved this book Dylan and Jase's story was amazing and I couldn't read it fast enough.
Packed with drama, and emotion this story will have give you the feels, a few laughs and by the end you will not want to leave the world of Royal Hearts Acedemy.
This is something a little different from Ashley, but she has an Amazing talent to give you something new with a story that shines and characters that you become obsessed with.
I am a huge fan of Bully Stories and a huge fan of Ashley Jade so my hopes were very high for book and I was blown away by this story. No matter if you are a long time fan or new to this author this is a book that you Need to read!
I really enjoyed this! You hear about a bully romance and they’re never actually a bully romance. This is exactly what you would expect from one. I love the way the author writes. Everything just seems to flow effortlessly.
I have to admit that I was a little wary going into this book . Is the high school rich kids bully genre over done ? I have read a lot of this genre with a handful of great books by great authors and Ashley Jade just smashed her way to the top. I shouldn't be surprised as Ashley's writing as always is phenomenal and she takes you on this amazing journey that is full of sexy bad behaving rich boys ( with hearts of gold burred deep) , feisty take no crap from anyone kick ass girls. Mix that in with incredible vain, selfish trouble making teenagers , intrigue , laugh out loud and that did not happen moments and twists that will keep you guessing. This book is certainly a page turner that won't allow you to put it down and keep you up all night.
It’s finally time to meet the Covington family. Jase, Cole, Liam and Bianca and boy do these 3 brothers come barrelling through the pages full force. Seeing as this is Jase’s story he really gave me a run for my money, many times I wanted to grab a hold of him and introduce my kness to his balls and throat punch him on the way down. That’s how great of a character Ashley Jade wrote. His action were very back and forth, hot and cold. He had many secrets that we only saw minuscule amounts of thoughout the story. Then there is Dylan. At times I wanted to just hug her but mostly I just wanted her to woman up, see her self worth. I could go on about her but then that would be spoiling it.
I absolutely loved this story. The angst, hate, love and turmoil I felt for these characters were in equal measures.
As for side characters I loved Oakley and Sawyer. I hope they get a book as I want/need to know so much more about them.
This book has it all. The title “Cruel Prince” says it all and just when you think you know just how this is going to end, your wrong. The twist and there are a few had me picking my jaw up fro the floor. Ashley Jade definitely grabbed my heart at times and gave it a squeeze. This is a must read.
This story will send you on an emotional rollercoaster. If these characters don't take hold of your heart and mind and twist them in circles I think you might be dead already.
There's nothing short of wizardry in this writing to make it sooooo good!
Ashley Jade has long been a favourite author of mine and I always think she can't do better than the last book. And yet she tears off pieces of her soul to give us better every single time. It's mastery.
High school can be a vicious place for some. For Dylan returning to Royal Heart's Academy for her senior year after leaving town years earlier presents a unique situation. Lucky she's got family and old friends to look out for her. Or does she?
Well I am a gooey puddle right now...all the freaking feels are eating me up, I'm still reeling from that rollercoaster of a read.
Prepare yourself readers for this book will take you on a rollercoaster of emotions, from panty melting to bouts of ugly crying, this book sucks you in and does not let go.
Warning: if you have triggers for suicide then I would not read this book. It's not present throughout most of the book but the one scene it's in made me shed a tear or two.
The FMC was very kickass in this book. I like that she actually punches a few idiots along the way. Her character did irk me a little with how she could sometimes be really obtuse but otherwise, I enjoyed reading her story. Our MMC is a real piece of work and even cruel at times but he had his moments where my heart strings were pulled. His character is executed really well. I also loved that his go to, was to go down, if you know what I mean 😉.
I would really love to see Oakley get his own story, because man, what a story that would be! I would read Oakley's story before Bianca's. I know it's not been said to happen but pretty please, I need his story!!
I really enjoyed this book. I love bully romances and this was a pretty good one. I did think there was a few story issues though, and this accounts for the half a star. At times I thought Dylan was a bit naive and I don’t understand why she struck up a friendship with Tommy, especially given their history. I also felt that Jace got over his feelings too easily. I wanted to see a definitive moment where he decided to let go. And at the end I think things were wrapped up too easily. I did love Oakley, Sawyer, and Cole. I know Oakley doesn’t get a book, but I think he really needs one. This isn’t a massively bully-ish book, but it does still fit that category, so if they’re not for you, I’d give it a miss. On the other hand, if they are your thing, don’t expect this to be over the top. I’d still recommend it though!
