A thriller that tests your values

I liked the action and the unusual approach of the author to present the opposite points of view when switching from one side of the crimes to the other. This does interrupt the flow of the story a little as does the need to allow some explanation of the underlying issues from both sides.
Overall it is a cat and mouse game as the two protagonists Mia and Ellie test each others resolve. Dr Mia Langley specialises in animal cruelty for the National Crime Agency. Ellie is a forgotten person who by finding a winning lottery ticket is able to provide shelters for abused animals. But she also funds revenge raids to extract justice for animals
They start their dance after a man is murdered in a turkey shed
As a trail of retribution continues Mia draws closer. While she finds relationships hard she finds that Ellie is universally loved. And they fall for the same man.
At the same time the authorities are drawing closer and the story is going to end badly.
The story is all action and should satisfy most readers of action and crime thrillers.
