Dark and Intoxicating
28 May 2019
Dark and intoxicating is the only way in which I am able to describe Clarissa Wild's latest offering to her readers. As usual Clarissa's words pull you right into her world right from the very beginning and hold you there until the ending. What an ending!!! It has me desperate for more of Charlotte and Easton's story. A debt is to be paid ... but at what cost?
I loved both Charlotte and Easton, they totally fascinated and intrigued, although at times I just wanted to slap some sense into them. Charlotte wanted freedom from her father, she got it ... but not in the way she expected. An intelligent woman, strong of mind, however she continually allowed people to walk all over her. Easton, well he was a real contradiction ... sometimes he came across as an ogre, a man very much in charge, yet there were also glimpses of a softer side, one which could melt your heart.
Together Charlotte and Easton have an undeniable chemistry, however due to the circumstances that brought them together, they appear to be destined to be enemies forever. With the twists and turns that Clarissa puts in her stories anything is possible. Easton is determined to extract his revenge on the Davis family, but will his revenge be thwarted because of Charlotte?
This book is definitely a MUSTREAD, simply because in Clarissa's true style there are secrets, lies, love and darkness to be found. Loved this book and I can't wait for the next part of this fascinating story.
