In the authors note E.J. Noyes speaks about how this book was a weird idea that she persisted with.. well I say please continue to write weird because I loved it - I read it in one sitting. It’s not normally a synopsis that would make pick a book up but I took a chance as the other reviews were glowing and rightly so. It’s an unique storyline of someone willingly secluding themselves from all human contact as an experiment and the effect that has on the mind after several years. Enter Oliver the hiker and things get even more interesting. It’s well written, the characters draw you in, even the existence of the secondary characters curtesy of Celeste’s mind all add to round out a fantastic story. This is my second book of this author and is definitely my favourite to date.
Another fabulous offering from E.J. Noyes. Different again from her other novels but equally moving, beautiful and entertaining. Characters are lovingly developed and portrayed allowing the reader to feel the isolation and uncertainty. Not simply an examination of a FF relationship but also what it is to be truly alone. Such a talented writer. I cannot recommend this book highly enough.
