I didn't like how this book was reduced to almost 2 people (or one sole), even my favorite whisp was missing in action, the team is on backburner, & minion bobs are just background checks.
Fights where less, exploring and surviving a challenge , & more 'this is war'. BUT, i donno, it turns out to be interesting for the last 1/4, and i didn't not like it, i definitely didn't feel like I wanted to be reading something else in my collection or list. So good book, not as...pun'chy as the last 3
Wow. Just wow. I didn't think this series could get any better. Then it did. Humorous and funny but also touching. Be warned. We loose anouther beloved character and it will hit you hard. The revelation at the end will shock you. And leave you screaming for the next book now!!!!
I’ve been consuming the Audible versions of this series, and was really pleased with the first book, but was gradually getting bored with the later books. However, the action ramped up in the previous book and continued here. My initial disappointment in the cultivation paths being “stumbled” into by luck by the characters in the previous books seemed too convenient to me. Although this trait didn’t disappear in this book, the characters did try moving forward in their ranks with a little more struggle and insight than mere grinding, which caused my dissatisfaction in the earlier books. Anyway, having swung away from a more boring story path than I initially predicted, I was pleasantly surprised. Will await the last book with great expectations.
Well written, great humour, strong action and some good plot twists. I think this was way better than the previous two books. Probably the best Dungeon Core story I’ve read. If anything the ending may have been a little abrupt, but don’t let that put you off. This is top stuff!
