This book had me hooked from the start! I loved getting to know Justin and Forster through the alternating POVs, and loved watching both of them grow and move past their insecurities, learning to trust and open up to the other after the heartbreak in both their pasts. I admit I worry a little with 'forbidden' romances, whether the romance will stand on it's own or be more about the danger of being caught, but this book wasn't like that. In fact, that aspect was only a tiny portion of the storyline.
It was beautifully written, and very heartfelt. I could see what the characters were going through and empathise with them. I would definitely recommend this book, and look forward to more in this series - especially if one if the books will be on Ross, and hopefully another on Benny.
Wow, did my heart hurt after reading this story. Everything about Justin and Foster's slow-burn romance was so beautiful. Because of the professor/student and age-gap dynamics, Foster is hesitant to explore the chemistry between himself and his young poetry student, Justin. Their connection is too powerful however, as artfully demonstrated by the emotion and passion that Justin's painfully honest poetry ignites between the two. When they finally come together, it is evident just how perfectly they fit and their tortured souls slowly begin to heal.
This book is an emotionally-charged and heartbreakingly beautiful story about finding that person who gives you your second chance in life. It is extremely well-written and flows seamlessly. Although heavy on the emotion and angst, it is also filled with tenderness and hope and ends with a lovely HEA.
💖 I loved the start of this book as Justin's honour had me laughing. Poor Justin if it wasn't one thing knocking him back it was another. Money's trees are a dream, not reality with juggling 3 jobs. Secrets and the chemistry buzzing but the teacher/ student thing they fought it or hid from eyes. I was hoping Benny gets a story that Ross might be his boe. A great ending for these guys with fuzzy feelings.
Included ex-con, Bi sexual, struggling to get by, gay curious, virgin, sexy scenes, angst and more. Justin's 25 yrs enrolment in a poetry class was the last thing he needed to graduate but it did had its attractions. Professor McHottie aka Foster 42 yrs was his teacher..
From the start this book kept me emotionally captive my heart was beating wildly . Justin and Foster in appearance look so different yet so well suited . Both men looking for redemption Justin warring with himself drowning in guilt feeling he let both his parents down not being able to be there for them when needed. Foster on the other hand feels insecure when it comes to relationships and is being consumed by loneliness. When their eyes meet across the lecture theatre something sparks in both of them college student and hot professor forbidden boundaries.it’s a beautiful story of slowly falling in love ,trusting and being completely honest. Justin’s poetry is heart wrenching you will feel his words deep within and they will stay with you . Loved everything about this story and so looking forward to the next one in the series .
Oh my, such a beautiful story. Two broken souls , Foster and Justin, Professor and student, thrown together through poetry class. They helped each other heal the pain and insecurities of the past. Very emotional and heart warming. I loved it and am looking forward to book 2.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. The characters were so well written and came alive on the pages. I couldn't wait to see Harding and Justin needed coming together and did they work it out. I loved reading about the family and the characters that Felice had interwoven in this story, I I hope Ross has a story of his own. I enjoyed very much Harding as the Professor whom found his true love in a totally different direction.
