I have been blown away by Aspen and Dom, they are so perfect for each other. I am going to have to re-binge all of Maria’s books now, but I think Aspen and Dom may have just become my new Favourite couple of Maria’s. I loved this book cannot wait for Savannah’s story so pumped.
I love Maria's stories and i waited quite impatiently for this sequel to the Ring on It series. Dom and an unnamed woman were briefly introduced in the first novel of the series. Domenic is fired from his job and is offered a position with a high school as an Assistant Coach, at the same time he is rather infamously starring in a matchmaking tv series. Aspen is a single mother to Topher, and is the Coach of football at the high school. Written in first person, the book has rich characterisations, humour, and fantastic one liners will have you laughing at loud and cheering on both Domenic and Aspen. It is a slow burn as Aspen and Domenic have to first stop hating each other for the romance to sizzle. The story is quite raw in parts especially dealing with the emotional and psychological abuse that Aspen suffered by having such an abusive husband. (so these may be triggers) but it is the love of her son Topher that makes her life worth living. Unlike Dominic who grew up abandoned, feeling unwanted, in juvie and foster systems, not knowing what love felt like, Aspen didn't give up on hope. The book has Maria's notes which are always fun to read with how she draws stories from real life into her stories, she has links for her other books (which i highly recommend reading....your welcome lol) and a bonus chapter to the story which is so wonderful (i cried, thanks so much Maria!)
This book had a great storyline!! I loved how they know each other, and how they met "officially". Aspen and Dom meet at the bar one night, and she's waaayyy too drunk. Little do they know, they'll be working together. They have to keep it profesh for the kids, and they're bickering back and forth isn't helping things. They have another run in when Aspen's son Topher hits Dom's truck, and Dom has him repay him for the damages by helping with his house remodel. Things happen with the football team they're coaching, and Dom starts to see the real Levi come out, and he's falling for her. Little does Levi know, that she's starting to fall for Dom. I love that Dom makes her count her blessings from time to time, and during some pretty funny moments too! This book did start out a little slow for me. Aspen's inner thoughts were a bit much for me, so I did skim some to get through it. I did love Dom's POV on things though.
Some of my fave quotes from the book: 1. Go home brain. You're drunk. - LOL!!! 2. Also, unless I'm mistaken, I think he's free-balling it.... - ROFL!!!! She finds the truth later on! 3. "But I think what you need is a night of fun. An orgasm would probably do it for you." - GO Aspen! 4. "Don't ever touch me like you did tonight unless you plan to do something about it." - Aspen realises that she wants him to touch her!
Kiss Me Tonight Put A Ring On It Series #2 Maria Luis Aspen and Dom are thrown together for work. They hate it. She knows he is a big shot with a huge reputation and an even bigger chip on his shoulder. He knows he doesn’t want to be anyone’s assistant coach! Dom was a star player, and not just on the field. His career as a network sports reporter tanked after going on the ‘Put A Ring On It’ reality show, the show he only went on to boost ratings. When fired he lands in small town London to coach high schoolers. Aspen Levi is a divorced mother and “coach”. They have both closed themselves off after a lifetime of hurt for Dom and a loveless marriage for Aspen. “Except I can’t help but fear that sliver of my useless heart has been stolen by the woman who flops on he back as soon as we make it to the beach” Like all Maria books I didn’t want this story to end, I wanted to linger among the pages and soak up all of the Dom and Asp goodness. Ms Luis is a master storyteller who weaves a sole-searching plot line with detailed and absolutely loveable characters. A massive 5 stars! I received an arc of this book.
Kiss Me Tonight by Maria Luis is book 2 in this awesome series. This captivating storyline is sooo great I didn’t want to put down & stayed up waaay too late to finish. I received an advanced readers copy of this ebook & choose to leave a review so that others don’t miss this great story.
