I love reading leadership stories from people who have "been there, done that" so was excited to read this one. It is a bit light and doesn't go into a lot of detail on some of the more interesting aspects of leadership and managing a large organisation, but it still provides enough insight and lessons to keep you interested. It is an entertaining read, particularly when he's writing about events that had a lot of public attention - matching what I thought as an external observer to what they were thinking internal can be fascinating. Overall I enjoyed the book - it's well written, but just don't expect a detailed leadership style handbook.
I would actually like to know why James Gunn was rehired. Shouldn't it be an "easy choice" for him to let go of someone who had crossed the line. And he didn't address the comment made by one of Walt's relatives who came out to say that employees at Disney Land are underpaid.
