Up until the hospital scene, this was a solid 5 star read. I loved everything about Jojo and Steel and how their relationship developed. It was so great reading about a man who showed loyalty to his woman in every way (reminded me of Deck in The Other Princess) and I loved him! He was protective and took everyone on that tried to mess with her. And you just knew she felt just as strongly about him as he did her. I was riveted and was enjoying the story so much!
But here's where it went wrong. In the first book, I thought that Angel Girl deserved so much better than Sweet...but after reading this, those two deserve each other. Angel Girl was horrible! She was so selfish. The one time Jojo actually had to concentrate on herself, Angel Girl wrote her off like she was nothing and treated her like sh!t for the majority of the book. The lame-arse apology she gave when Jojo was in the hospital was weak and the opposite of genuine. It was almost like she was guilted into going because, once again, she made it all about her. And don't even get me started on Sweet and his behaviour toward them. Also, another disingenuous apology. If it's not about them, then they don't actually care.
Will I read the next book? Of course I will. But less Angel Girl and Sweet would be great. More Jojo and Steel would be even better!! Would I recommend this book? Yes I would. Just because there was a part that kind of ruined it for me, doesn't mean others would feel the same. And my issues weren't about the main couple because Jojo and Steel are definitely worth reading this for!
Loved reading Jojo's story. This is book 2 in this MC romance series . liked how it went from hate to love so fast and it was a sizzling romance when Jojo and Steel gave in to their chemistry together. Definitely worth the read and i hope there will be more S.H.E books to come.
