I have read all except one of the Crossroads collections. The concept of all five stories linking together is different, and fun. I always enjoy the final story, where everything ties in together within a final story. It's great value for money, especially when purchased at the initial discount price of US0.99.
In my opinion, this collection wasn't as enjoyable as the other collections. The first four stories were not as strong as they have been in the past, and there was a little something lacking about each of them. I'm not sure if I can explain why; maybe the story lines simply didn't appeal to me but most lacked depth. I have read several other stories by each of these authors, and mostly find them appealing. This time round, not so much.
The final book was the exception. I like reading how each member of the Hutchins family finds their life partner, and London's story was well written, tying up the other stories nicely … with a few bonus 'dress' situations to enhance the plot.
I tossed up between three and four stars; three wasn't enough but four felt too much. I've gone with four stars because five books for such a low price is good value, and I was happy to read each story in full.
