This was a good novel, with engaging main characters, dastardly villains and a HEA for the happy couple as shown in the extended epilogue. I would have given this 5 stars, but the proof-reading was again distracting poor but if you can handle that, the story of a young orphan seamstress working in the Duke's home, making a sensational wedding gown for his bride to be, whilst mischief and suspect death brings anxiety as to if the wedding will go ahead, will entertain you to the end.
This is an exciting story of two people from vastly different lifestyles. One who is accustomed to working very hard each day just to survive, and a Duke who, while also working in numerous roles, has everything at his fingertips. There is sadness and loss from an early childhood, compassion and understanding of others, and the ability to be tolerant of those who seek to act maliciously. An attraction between them seems impossible, but life has a way of working out. Emma Linfield has again written a very well planned storyline, and her characters are filled with emotions and strengths and weaknesses. I received an arc of this story, and voluntarily review and recommend it here.
This book is a very enjoyable read from start to finish. The story is intriguing and entertaining and well written. The characters are endearing and well developed, and the plot keeps the reader's attention and interest. Five stars for this wonderful story.
