This trilogy is written in a way that draws you in right from the start and doesn’t disappoint throughout. The first book focuses on Alaric, who is a Keeper, and his quest to find a solution to save his dying wife. His path crosses with an Elf and a dwarf, a human and what appears to be a wizard. His quest combines with theirs and friends are made and enemies realised in a battle to save humanity. The second book focuses on another Keeper Will, his search for his stolen sister and the journey it takes him on and the people he meets along the way. The discoveries he makes along the way provide unexpected missing links that take him into constant danger. He finally meets back up with Alaric who helps him in his rescue attempts of his sister . The third book is about Sora as well as Alaric and Will and their combined efforts to battle the new threat .
Although the first book started off a bit slow I persevered and am so glad I did. By the time I got to the end of book 3 I had laughed, cried, cheered and had a whole host of emotions. You really get involved with each character and each book focuses on a different main character, all the while interweaving the others into the story. It’s well worth the read and I could see this being made into a movie equal to The Lord of the Rings.
Really enjoyed reading this, loved that each book gave a complete tale and didn't leave you hanging, but the whole made a complex and satisfying tapestry. Even the villains had a twirl of humanity, like people all have a sliver of light.
An amazing trilogy in a world every bit as interesting as Middle Earth, brilliantly complex characters who keep you engaged enough to read long past the point at which you should turn out the light, up past the point your eyes get gritty until you can no longer see clearly. These books are a true epic joined together with love, hope and heroism, a must read for all fantasy lovers.
It is so refreshing to read a series of books that have a definitive ending yet contain fresh ideas and a new world for one's imagination to soar in. Highly recommend and maybe more falcons at a later date
Can't wait for more from JA Andrews. I felt a part of this world she has created. Loved the way each book was from the perspective of a different character. In true form, good overcomes evil but still did not expect the way it ended. Also great having an author who ties up those pesky loose ends!
