Zemira Coleman an orphan who is trying to better her life through sacrifice and hard work, is the complete opposite to the entitled and wealthy Baxter. He has not had to earn anything in his life until Zemira. Now he must earn her forgiveness.
God is a trouble character, desperate to not be like his greedy and gluttonous father. Although he still indulges in the luxuries and power that his father’s name and status in the elite provides, there is a clear difference between them. God shows us he can show remorse and compassion unlike his father.
Zamira brought out the better side in God and despite her pushing him away he still persisted in helping her. Their chemistry is hot, their encounters alluring and their story addictive.
K Webster did a brilliant job in portraying God into his character of Gluttony and aligning all the details with the previous books in this series making the story flow smoothly. This is definitely one of my favorites in the series to date
The fifth book in the Elite Seven series and this is Baxter Samuel Goddard V story and it doesn't disappoint one bit. Always well written, K Webster gives us angst galore, lots of suspense and a good dollop of hot steamy sex to devour as well; K never lets her readers down that's for sure !!
I had trouble at first connecting with God as he acts like a right spoilt brat and he thinks himself better than anyone else but God has deep seated problems and peeling back his layers as you read is addictive and extremely enjoyable to explore. We see all sort of traits in God you would least expect and he did grow on me more and more as the book progressed. Zemira is a complete opposite to God, and they meet in the most shocking of ways which will take your breath away, BUT this is when we see a different God immerse. It's a bit like watching a caterpillar change into the butterfly, it really did make me feel a sense of fullness and happiness - with some setbacks along the way of course, and being the person he is God is also good for Zemira in ways you would never guess. This young lady maybe unsure of herself and have doubts and worries about her life but she is one strong women and I enjoyed her character so much.
Another enthralling fascinating read in this series and I can't wait for more, next up is Sloth by Gianna Darling - bring it on !!!
Since the beginning of this series Baxter Samuel Goddard V, a.k.a. God, has had my attention. Through the first four books God was the epitome of is name ... he lived, "loved" and behave to excess. Did he really though? Or was this just a facade he wore? Where did he go when he would just suddenly disappear?
GLUTTONY would definitely have to be my favourite of the series, so far. It doesn't seem to be travelling along the same timeline as the previous four books, so therefore there is no unnecessary rehashing of prior story lines ... in this book everything is brand new. Of course god still receives his Elite task, one that is so much easier than previous ones. However, nothing goes as planned and everything he knows changes.
Zemira Coleman hasn't had an easy life. Raised in orphanages, she has had to struggle for everything she has. She studies hard to maintain her grades and works even harder just to maintain her meagre lifestyle. However, her life is dramatically altered one fatal night.
God and Zemira are totally perfect for each other. Zemira brings out a side of God which I totally did not expect, a tender nurturing side. It is obvious that God truly cares for her. Zemira is a wonderful foil for God, she's sweet, kind and doesn't care about his wealth, but she does feel for him.
This book was 'unputdownable', even in the early morning hours. I absolutely adored the ending, even though it was not anywhere near what I imagined. Brilliant is the only way to describe it. Now bring on SLOTH, this man is really a mystery.
Gluttony-Over indulgence and over consumption of food, drink or wealth of items, particularly as a status symbol.
K. Webster dishes up Baxter Samuel Goddard V, aka God, to us on a platter. As in the previous books God is absent in many of the sins process and now we finally get to find out just where he would disappear to and what he was getting up too. I really fell in love with God. Even though his ego is bigger that heaven, his life that he was living was something entirely different. The look on the outside doesn’t always match the insides. He is a man with many deep seated issues and fights daily with the demands pushing him forward. His sin is very fitting for him on so many levels. I really enjoys story and I loved seeing just how he evolved.
A few questions/secrets have been revealed and at times I saying “well it’s about time that happened” but as usual more questions have been created. So as usual I’m chomping at the bit for the next book.
I have become obsessed with this series and this one is my favourite of the series so far. This is the book I've been waiting on the one that kicks up the action a million percent. I wasn't sure what I was expecting with God but as it's by one of my favourite authors I should have known to be prepared. From the moment we start the story the action doesn't stop it's like being on a treadmill running full speed to your destination. And the destination is REVENGE and oh how sweet it was. I finally feel like some of the pieces are falling into place but it's The Elite who knows what's in store with the last two books but I'm hoping for more of everything.
God has been one of the brothers mentioned from the start of this series and his sin of Gluttony fit him perfectly! Zemira is an orphan struggling to make ends meet until God decides he’s going to give her all that she needs. I’m loving the little clues we get each book as to where the story is heading, still a lot unanswered and I can’t wait to find out what happens next!
