Deadly, missing students and more houses to complete the trials in. I loved it and the mysterious powers and intuition of Wild. With her ragtag group of mixed oddball students, it had me laughing and enjoying the mystery of what would happen next. As the story goes on, I'm curious about her childhood friend Rory and where he stands with Wild. And all the mysterious characters that are affecting the trial. I cant wait to read the next book.
I am really loving this series. The trials are amazingly written and they grab hold of you and keep you enthralled every step of the way. The characters are getting a bit more life in them and we see the team coming together more as a team.
Secrets, missing kids, plot twist and unicorns with wings is what is in store for you when you read this book. I definitely recommend it to everyone, seriously.
I love all of KF Breene’s work (she on my always buy list) and I’ve read a fair bit of Shannon Mayer as well. While the story of a teenager finding out magic exists and going to ‘magic school’ is a common one, hello Harry Potter, the authors manage to make the heroine someone you want to root for, with some interesting twists on the trope. Plus the trademark witty and snarky banter between the characters will definitely make me read the entire series.
Slightly interesting that this book 2 did not start with a short recap of book 1. Just jumped straight into the ongoing 'saga' of the heroine. Worked for me, but would have confused people who had a time gap from 1 to 2, I think. Anyway, a good read yet again, and I am about to buy book 3. (...I guess that says it all.)
