I'm surprised I finished this as quickly as I did because for a good 30% of the book I could barely read through my tears! This book made me hug my little boy and girl just that little bit harder at night. 🌟🌟🌟🌟
This is the first book I have read by Nicole Trope and it had me absolutely hooked. It was filled with love but also tension and the story flowed seamlessly. Even though I guessed the ending, I had to keep reading to be sure. Great story and clever author.
I really enjoyed this book and would give it 4 stars or maybe 4.5. It certainly kept my attention throughout and was quite gripping towards the end. Although I had guessed at a lot of the plot twists it didn’t really diminish my enjoyment of the book. I thought the back and forth between the present and the past worked well. Besides all that, you have to give props to anyone who sets a book at Heddon Greta which is is just 30 minutes up the road from me and the most unlikely setting of a novel I know lol.
Wow, I simply loved this book. I could not imagine what it would be like to have your child taken and miss out on the growing years. To find out what that child had to endure after being taken was heart breaking. The ending was gripping, I could not read fast enough, and I was left feeling quite emotional but in a good way. Nicole you have done it again!
This book surprised me. I'd never read anything by this author before, but I am very impressed after reading this book. This was a heartbreaking story that also delivered well on a smartly crafted plot. The insecurities and pain of both the boy and his mother were beautifully written and felt by the reader. And although I'd figured out early on that the father hadn't died the plot surprises kept coming. Most of all I loved the many subtle touches in the story....bravo!
