I enjoyed this story. I did feel it was long and a little repetitive at times, but not exceedingly so. Jace Parker is a successful self made business man and Kara Bell is a wannabe lawyer down on her luck. Both have intense history when they meet 10 years later. This story was certainly interesting yet frustratingly so at times, reading how they go thru their dramas, to reconcile themselves to come together. Its is about misunderstandings, communication, and forgiveness. Definitely one book worth taking the time to read. This was an ARC copy sent to me in exchange for my voluntary and honest review.
Jace and Kara had history but they had gibe their separate ways Kara is determined to make something of her life and she is working hard at that end Jace is a billionaire he really doesn't need to work hard but he is trying to prove himself. When a job application puts Kara back in the orbit of Jace she should of known not to take the job as his secretary that only trouble would come from it., but she really needed that job. The way the story is told in alternating POV gives a lot of depth to this story both of these characters have their own hang ups and it is fun to see their different takes on the same situation Will two stubborn people be able to work together when the chemistry is till so hot between them and what happens when complications occur
I was given a copy of this book but this is true and honest review
What a rollercoaster of a read!!! This second chance romance is written from two POVs and alternates between the present and past. It includes a bit of humor, of course some heartbreak, suspense, drama and some explosive chemistry. A well written story with strong characters and an engaging plot. Another fabulous and engaging read! * I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book *
I absolutely loved this book, R. R. Banks had me captivated from beginning to end. I’d definitely give it 5+ stars if I could. Surprise Marriage is the story of Kara and Jace. Kara is a young woman with a dream to become a lawyer, but she has to leave school after her father dies, leaving no money for her tuition fees. Jace is a successful businessman, with an early reputation of being a playboy, but since he began his own business he’s become a workaholic. Kara and Jace have a history, they dated in college with a bad break-up. Kara begins a new job as a PA, only to find out that Jace is her new boss. Surprise Marriage is well up to the extraordinary standard of all books from R. R. Banks. Mind you I’m probably a bit biased, Banks is one of my favourite authors. The book is well written, with a logical storyline, realistic and likeable characters and many steamy scenes. I enjoy the writing style of Banks that allows me to watch a movie in my head rather than simply reading a series of words. There’s twist, turns, up and downs that need to be overcome if the characters are to find their happy ever after. I don’t want to ruin the “surprises” in this story, you’ll just have to get the book for yourself. This is the second book in a new series that seems to be about 5 wealthy men who went to school and then college together. It’s great to obtain snippets of information regarding the characters of the previous books. Do yourself a favour. Read this book. I guarantee you’ll love it as much as I did.
This story takes you on an emotional roller coaster. Kara and Jace knew each other in college, so when she applied for a job as his personal assistant, he hired her. These two certainly went through many obstacles including lies, personal “baggage,” domestic abuse, a stalker, and attempted murder in order to try for their HEA. 💋
I was instantly captivated by this heartwarming second chance romance. It’s filled with such genuine emotion, strong characters, loyal friends, love and sooo much drama all perfectly woven into this truly entertaining story. This is a voluntary review of an advanced copy
R. R. Banks you have done it again, 5 stars all the way. This book was fabulous and the characters were fantastic. Highly recommend this book and author to everyone. I received a free copy of this book for a voluntarily review.
An interesting storyline about two people who had a relationship in college, and then meet up again unexpectedly. They explore their feelings for each other and quite a lot happens from then on. The main characters are quite strong people with baggage of their own brought into their lives. How they deal with these feelings from the past ensures the interest in this story. There is danger, attraction, humour, and frustration. All in all, a good story, written by a talented author.
