I thoroughly enjoyed this book! I couldn't help but love Geo - he was such a fun and amazing character! The love he had for his foster kids, even with the difficulties they presented, was inspirational. His awkward bumbling at times was adorable, and his outgoing personality was contagious - I couldn't help but smile and laugh at his antics.
I loved that we got dual POV, so got to see the scenes from both Geo and Travis' perspective. This meant we got to see all of the turmoil and indecision in Travis - he knew what he wanted but didn't think he could have it. I loved that he had the support of his family, especially his sister Cindy and his father.
The storyline was fun, moved at a good pace, was interesting and had just enough angst/drama to keep my on the edge of my seat without it being overly dramatic. I found it was a great balance.
The only downside was that the story rushed a bit at the end. When the drama went down, it skipped time periods - 2 weeks, then a month. I wanted to see how they were doing during that time, especially given the whole rest of the book was set over a 1 week period. If it had been paced a little slower with more detail at the end it would have been a 5 star read for me.
I am looking forward to seeing what comes next in the series, and am interested in checking out this authors other works given I liked the writing style.
