Well, with the way book one ended, I knew it was going to be pretty full on right from the start with all the emotions. And boy, was it (note, don't try and keep the emotions in whilst on your lunch break).
Oh, Dr Aiden Pierce, you really are a bit of a ar$ehole - and I love it.
M. Robinson really does know how to keep her readers impatient for more, and when we get more, we don't want it to end.
I absolutely freaking adore Camila and her dance moves! She is sweet and beautiful, but not afraid to tell it like it is. It was a joy watching her break through Aiden's walls.
I ran through all the emotions. Yes, I cried (I mean, it is an M. Robinson book, it is to be expected) however I laughed and cheered and swooned and yelled. I never knew what emotion I would feel as I turned each page.
What surprised me though with this book was how little angst there was. M. Robinson is not known as the queen of angst for nothing, and except for a couple of times, I didn't feel it this time. Not that this is a bad thing, it was just that I had mentally prepared myself for more.
I loved seeing more of M's previous characters, particularly Noah. He plays quite a role in this tale.
I don't want to give anything away, as this is a story that you need to feel for yourself the first time you read it (because we all know, I will be rereading it, and so will you!). It is raw, emotional and a wonderful ending to Camila and Aiden's story.
And there is a great set up for the next book we will be getting too. Ooooh I can't wait for that one.
This duet was devastatingly, heart wrenchingly , gut grippingly emotional - a real tear jerker! . I cried so many times from sad tears to happy tears. This book was everything . Reading a tragic story at the same time as a romance with one of the main characters involved In both . Aiden - swoon worthy , gorgeous aiden . I loved his character . I loved him in his appearances of lost boy too , but this cemented just what a wonderful human being he is. He cares so deeply and wants to look after everyone he loves . He’s broken and harsh at times yes but gees he has every reason to be . Camila is fun and vibrant and everything this family needed . I loved loved loved this duet . I also loved that there were glimpses of other characters from books by this author! I loved that that community keep s growing and interacting and helps make their world more real and involved ! Makes me want to re read them all again too !! I’m going to go care for my battered heart now, in this severe book hang over after finishing this one . ;)
Choosing you was so much more intense. I laughed I cried and I cried and I cried some more I felt my heart squeezing and shattering for Aiden for Cami and Jackson, Jagger and Journey. I loved them all and felt their pain. And felt their joy too I liked the light moments in this book it gave me the reprieve I needed from all the angst you feel throughout this book. I gotta say I did feel the angst in this book alot more than the first one. Aside from the part when Aiden lost his mum that tore my heart apart. My only complaint is the repetitiveness in some of the scenes I had to skip those parts
After reading book one your left with a WTF happened moment. Aiden is broken and he’s only going through the motions in his life, but struggling with feelings he is having for Camila, it feels like betraying his wife. Camila is there to help with the house and children, she knows she loves the children, and she’s falling in love with Aiden, but where is his wife. When you find out what happened to the family, it’s real, it’s raw and you feel the pain, but as always there is a happily ever after, but with who is the question.
I liked this book. This duet was heartbreaking but it was also pretty impressive. I will preface this by admitting I read ahead, so I knew the outcome of this book before I started it, and did give me a bit more patience. In saying that, I understand how this book could be frustrating for others. I’m not sure if the truth needed to be buried so long unless the author deliberately wanted to give you conflicting feelings. As I know, for a lot of people, that cheating is a massive turn off, I have to wonder why this book was structured the way it was. Still, it’s a lovely duet and one I enjoyed.
This book was absolutely everything. The way book one ended left your mind thinking of possibilities what going to happen and it leaves your completely blown away book two.. I love that Monica has gone back to her complicate me was of angst and romance and just moments where you can’t breathe.. seriously this is a must read series of Monica’s
