I love sous vide cooking; I have an ANOVA, AUCMA and now The WANCLE. All three machines do the job they're made for but the Wancle has emerged as my favourite because of the simplicity of operation. The trigger operated clip is easy to use and most importantly setting temperatures and times could not be easier.
The Wancle Sous Vide cooker arrived on time and well packaged. Instructions were difficult to follow, however I was aware that more easy to read instructions were available for download on the web. Having said that the cooker is quite easy to operate and after a couple of cooks, it’s a breeze to set up.
First couple of attempts were a bit of a let down, but not necessarily the cookers fault, but quality of meat and with settings used. No doubt the cook played a part. Decided to do a couple of longer cooks, 24 and 48 hour and was happy with the results.
It does appear to have an issue where it drops off 35 minutes in a 24 hour cook and 1 hr 10 minutes in 48 hours. Now that I’m aware it’s not a big issue I’ll just add extra time and keep an eye on it towards the end of time.
For the money, good value. My main reason for purchase was to achieve tender meat, not into fancy meals. My wife and friends have been very impressed with the results, so what more could I ask for.
Once you have a basic understanding for Sous Vide cooking it becomes easier and there’s plenty of help out there.
Bought this item for work and although it works perfectly, it gets one star less because I have not been able to receive a tax invoice showing the GST amount paid and therefore had problems to get this item reimbursed.
This is really good value for money. I took a seat off as it didn't come with any recipe book or chart cooking guide. I tried to download one from the wancle website but it took me to a Chinese website and wouldn't download.
