I am of the generation that can recall when James Bond hit the bookshops and cinemas. He was so very volatile and exciting back then, later he seemed to dwindle as we grew used to the hype he engendered. Now it's all happening again but even better because this time our hero has a family, and this means he has a weak spot in his life, one that others can threaten him with. I like Reid Lawson, he's a nice man, a good man doing a job that is, simply put, bloody and dangerous. How he copes when all around him is going down is what draws us to him, gives us something we can relate to. He has a lot to lose. I started the first book thinking 'here we go again' remembering the Bond days, but then I had forgotten the world has moved on since then and is far more dangerous. Zero's world is believable, we are not as naive as we were back then and it's easy to related to the dangers he faces. This first book was impossible to put down, non stop action that didn't lapse or let up yet kept us aware of the extra problem Reid Lawson faced, that of a lost memory that hides so much he has forgotten and which he must recall even whilst the enemy moves in. Yep, this is GREAT!
Another great character from Jack Mars. Fast paced, real world events/time relevant with unexpected twists in the story. This will be another excellent series if Book 1 is any indication. I have purchased all that are currently available in this series.
Jack Mars delivers another cracking story. Move over Luke Stone, there is a new lethally trained machine in town.
True to form, the author takes the reader on an adventure; a university lecturer, Middle Eastern hitmen, secret agents, European cities, this story has it all. Without giving away any twists to the tale, simply put, this is another page turning hit that will keep you on the edge of your seat, not wanting to put it down for fear of missing out on what happens next. If you're a fan of this author you know what you're in for. If you're wondering whether you want to take the leap, go ahead, jump in with both feet together.
