This book is thick and heavy weight, appears to be made of good material. I’m looking forward to working through this book with my son! My only critique is that I wish it were bigger, bigger print, and more kid friendly for a child to write in. My son has occupational needs and neart handwriting in small spaces can be difficult and I don’t think such thought was put into the making of this book. Otherwise, highly recommend.
Glad to have this to activity book to share with my class. Wish I could buy one for each student as they are thoughtful and in-depth exercises to learn and understand Social Skills. One recommendation: I wish there were activities to navigate through bullying scenarios successfully. Activity 37 What Do I Stand For? mentions it as one of the values to check or not (I am not a bully and I don’t join in on bullying.) but I did not see an activity on it. My apologies if I missed it.
This book goes through the fundamentals you need to teach your kids social skills. I'm going through it activity by activity with my 10 and 7 year olds. All kids need this, whether you think they do or not. Some things are just not intuitive. There are some areas I would prefer were structured differently, but this book provides enough guidance that you can add to or elaborate as needed.
The book has many written activities and discussions for kids, but not many for those with trouble writing and understanding language (kids with development delays which I use it for). Perhaps better for older kids (above 10)
