I think the thing about this series is that it's like every other series at present. The new enemy is creatures from outer space. Nowadays you can find them deep under the ocean, encased in ice in Antarctica and inside the Himalayan mountains. It's a well-written book and does hold attention, as did the previous one. There is a pattern. The heroes plan to gain the new knowledge that is surely entombed with the space people, the baddies intend to stop them. The place the space people are entombed is full of traps that kill most of the baddies and, in the end, manages to destroy the whole set up leaving our goodies to get on with life. As I've said, well written if you like this sort of thing, and I do but the subject matter is getting tedious.
