I enjoyed The Orphan Book One in the Oberon Academy. I would recommend it. I usually don’t enjoy reading about Faeries as much as other genres but this was a surprisingly good read. Maybe because it had the school life incorporated into it. I can’t seem to say no to those books at the moment and there is a lot of them out at the moment. I thought the story and characters were good. The chemistry between December and Easton was written well and I like the best friend and sub characters. December did come into her powers very quickly, so not sure how more her abilities can develop, but looking forward to see how December continues to grow in the next book.
It has been awhile since I've read a book that feels "fresh" for lack of a better word. December is likeable, relatable and just decent, you feel for her and want her to succeed. There are parts of the book, especially at the end where it feels very rushed and perhaps little too simplistic, thus the four stars but overall this is by far one of the better books out at the moment. Well done!
Great story, intriguing main character who grew up with nothing but loneliness and being treated horribly by her evil foster parents & bullied at school. Her strength carries her forward into Oberon Academy, a literal godsend for her. Things dont just end happily ever after there though, much to read about and i recommend you do.
I enjoyed reading Oberon Academy book one and cant wait for the next in the series. It was easy to read, a page turner and with enjoyable characters that were easy to make a connection with. Im looking forward to the continuation of December's Story in book two..
