I love this series, and I absolutely loved Milo's book! It was a little darker/sadder than Oz's book due to the domestic violence themes, but was still well written and showcased the love and support that Milo had from his chosen family.
While this book could be read on it's own, I highly recommend reading Oz first as it really sets the scene, introduces the characters and describes the world in greater detail than I found in this book. Oz's story was about the estate and accordingly it was very descriptive about those aspects. Milo has a different focus on the world, so the descriptions and observations in this book were on different items.
I loved getting to know Niall more - he was hard to get a read on in Oz's book, but this book showcased him in a very different light. Milo and Niall have a long history, having been family friends for years, so between that and the alternating POV, we get a great depth to the character development. I admit I didn't like Gideon at first, but he did redeem himself toward the end. I would have liked to see more of him, so hopefully we get a book or Novella about him in the future.
A great read, and series, that I highly recommend. I look forward to reading more from this author.
In book 1 we met the quirky, quick witted, hilarious Oz and followed him and Silas. We also met Milo and Niall. This book follows their story and it is a no less hilarious or well written than book 1. There is something about a man and a baby, and it certainly works for these guys. Baby sitting young Cora, and dealing with heating issues at Chi an Mor, Milo moves in to Niall's beautifully renovated home on the estate - just until the heating is fixed. They dodge themselves and their feelings for each other until they cant anymore. So many funny, funny lines, great story, lots of sexy times and great writing. Cant wait to read the others. Although Lily, I do think another book in this series on Gideon's story would be awesome
I love the small slice of Cornwall that Lily has created and the characters that live there. Niall and Milo’s story is so sweet and heartwarming. It gave me all the feels. I love all of Lily’s writing and I can’t wait for the next one.
I love Lily Morton’s books and this one is no exception! As a British expat I especially love the British humour, sarcasm and banter her books are full of and her books always have me laughing out loud. She also writes a cracking story and her characters are so vivid and real I always leave a book feeling like I know them personally. In this book I especially loved Milo but my heart broke for him as we learned of his past. Getting to know Niall properly was a treat, underneath his exterior is a really gentle, loyal protector. The men are simply gorgeous together, the chemistry is hot and I loved every page.
I received an arc of this book and am voluntarily leaving an honest and unbiased review
The only thing wrong with this book is that it ended and I don't have another Lily Morton book to read. It was Lily Morton perfection and I loved every minute of reading it. It has everything you could want- great characters, humour, sweetness and a little bit of angst. The only think I will critique is that I don't get some of the British references BUT I don't even care because this authors books are amazing.
Only having seen small parts of Milo and Nial in the previous book there was still so much to learn. Milo was beautiful and loveable and Nial was perfect for him. Loved it. Lily Mortons writing is always addictive and beautiful and fun. I highly recommend it
this author is a must read for me. i have read all of her books that amazon has and enjoyed them immensely. only one complaint, they dont come out quickly enough. looking forward to book 3 - gideons story i hope.
