I have finished first book in the series. It revolved around pharmaceutical company and a flu epidemic and how human beings became suspicious of one another, often becoming feral. revolved around a family and how they learned to prepare their environment and close friends to deal with being prepared for illness and how to protect themselves and each other. Quite believable. 2nd book involves more a futuristic event with the Chinese. more an espionage novel with politics and again human behavior declining. Took a while to get into it as different setting to first novel. Involves the same family as first book and a few of their neighbours, but a different city. It is set a few years after the first book in the set.
The Perseid Collapse book 1 is really introduction to a story quite longed winded with lots of un-required detail where no answers are available. The many stories are introduced around a single family in a catastrophe in the New England area of the USA and no answers are provided. The book is really part one of book of a 4 part book with quite a few stories and it appears that any answers will not be provided if you do not purchase the rest of the series i.e. books 2/3 or 4. I feel I got tricked into reading book one and I give 4 out of 10...I'll just have to put up with not knowing the final outcome. It's just too long winded.
