I had never thought of the Battle for the Atlantic in anything other than it was part of WW2. This book has completely changed the landscape for me in regards to the whole of WW2. I learned so much, and now have a better understanding of the struggle that occurred for each of the protagonists in this war. It never ceases to amaze me how easily some people can make mistakes that changes the perceived course of history. Great book.
I particularly enjoyed the descriptions of the key players, Admirals and Commanders, their personalities and the conflicts they seem to have had with their political masters and bean counters. A most enjoyable and informative book on this key campaign of the second world war.
