Every time I read a new book from Devney I get this little rush of excitement because you just know she’s going to give you one amazingly beautiful story. Tragic is a story about forgiveness, finding true love even when you’re not looking for it and finding the strength to trust each other to heal. I loved Kaine and Piper, the way they met, the way they did everything backwards. I couldn’t get enough of them together. They were just perfect for each other. I won’t give too much away about the story but just be prepared for an emotional story full of love and healing. And to be honest I can’t put into words how much I adored Piper and Kaine.
Tragic was such a beautiful story. The two main characters Kaine and Piper are both living with sadness and grief, and even though they fight it hard, cannot help but be drawn to each other.
Kaine deals with his grief by escaping into solitude, and keeping to himself. His quiet lifestyle is disturbed when he gains a new neighbour. A gorgeous new neighbour - Piper. I enjoyed reading this story - it was quite emotional at times, with the road to happiness for Piper and Kaine being quite the bumpy one. I loved the epilogue - I look forward to these characters popping up in the next book in the series.
This was a nice story, I didn't love it but I certainly didn't hate it. I think the reason I feel ambivalent is that I wasn't crazy about the characters they seemed a bit wishy washy, or maybe it was the circumstances that seemed wishy washy. This was my first book by Devney Perry, I don't feel that reading number 3 in the series without having read 1 and 2 first was a problem as it read as a standalone.
I absolutely am in love with is at or her books are similar to real life scenarios they are real emotional and punchy they make me laugh and cry with both happiness and sadness I am not going to spoil the story of this novel by Devney Perry has way of weaving real life scenarios I and makes it hard to put down a book once I start reading them.
It always surprises me ..... but it really shouldn't .... at how much I enjoy everything that I have read by Ms Perry, the emotions that this woman can make you feel, an awesome addition to an amazing series .... cant wait for Tinsel
DISCLAIMER - Do not start reading this book if you have plans... I repeat do not start this book if you have plans!!!
OH MY HEART!!!!! This book is AMAZING!!! I LOVE LOVE LOVE IT! And yes, it was essential to yell those words. I have read every book so far in this book series, but this one right here is by far my favourite. I have loved them all but the author has really outdone herself with this emotional, heartfelt romance. A romance about having a second chance at love, about having a second chance at life. Definitely make sure you have tissues handy for this one.
Piper is a strong female lead. I really loved her character. She has moved away from her family to find herself and to live for her, and I think that is just wonderful. She was knocked down but she got back up. Her character is determined, strong, sassy and sweet. Kaine is such a rough and tough man full of pain and anger. He has been hurt. His past is extremely sad and he was so strong to make it through. Kaine is definitely my favourite male lead in any of the books I have read by this author. Even though he is rough and tough, he is also the most sweetest and caring man you could ever meet. I just love him.
These two characters together created electricity! Their connection was jumping off the page at me. I could feel it through every scene, through every tension, through every touch. Gahhh I just love these two together. This book had me tearing you from the prologue... I knew right from then that this was going to be an emotional ride and I was right. There were so many emotions I felt through this book, from sadness, to anger, heartbreak to happiness. I just loved every second. Ms Perry has time and time again shown me why she is one of my favourite authors. Her writing is so impassioned, it is just phenomenal. I live to read the words she writes and I will be a fan for life! I highly, HIGHLY recommend this book. I can't wait for more from Lark Cove!
Tragic by Devney Perry is the third book in her standalone contemporary romance series, Lark Cove . The story of Piper and Kaine, told in dual POV and heart-achingly beautiful. These two people with such tragic stories are able to come together and ease those painful parts in each other.
Piper has to get away from New York and everything that reminds her of her ex-husband Adam. When the opportunity to follow her boss and his family to Montana arises she jumps at it and finally settles on a time-locked house in the woods that is a shout-out to decades past with it's interior design and appliances. So living in an airstream on the property while construction crews come in and make this her forever home she doesn't expect the surly mountain man neighbor to show up pounding on the airstream door. But boy is she glad he did!
Kaine has wanted nothing but solitude for three years. ever since it happened and he lost them both he left his hometown behind and craved the quite and solitude he had found here in the outskirts of Lark Cove...UNTIL his gorgeous neighbor moved in with her loud generator kicking on at all times and the construction crew working non-stop. He will just have to go over there and tell her to keep it down, that it's encroaching on his work and she needs to be quiet. (Let's see how well that works for him).
Sparks are instantaneous between these two. The chemistry is palpable and practically leaps off the page. Another page turner from a must-read author. While each book in this series can standalone, the world of Lark Cove would be better enjoyed by reading the series in order. Enjoy!
