Lucca was a brilliant dark romance book and I had high expectations when I saw this book released. For me it was an epic fail, a rushed, disjointed story that skipped over many things. It had the makings to be so much more but unfortunately it was not to be. Such a long time between each book you would think the author could take the time to evolve the story but this was terrible and I can only hope that the next book improves otherwise I am no longer invested in this series!
I wouldn't recommend trying to read this book as a standalone as it ties into the series rather tightly. To understand the other characters you'd really need to have their stories. Out of all the series this book I was the most excited for but feel a little let down. I love the characters but it just felt anti climactic, Drago's revenge I didn't feel his pain or thirst for it but I do love how he see's Kat. As much as I am disappointed in this book as i felt it would be the biggest. It wasn't. It's just a prelude to what is coming. I feel it coming and i am keen for the next book. I really enjoyed the characters but again it was lacking that 'made in hell' feeling. It was so soft. It's definitely worth the read if you've come so far reading all the previous books. I wasn't expecting what the youngest Luciano dropped.
This book may be number six in the series, but like the other five, this book is a number one. I love this series, it has something for everyone. not only does it have romance, it has suspense, alpha males, women who dominate those alpha males. This book is one you can’t seem to put down till the end, and then when it’s over, asking for more.. highly recommended
