Jax is back in town, back in the family, starting a new business with his brothers and all up in her business. Joey has never forgotten what happened or forgiven him for walking out on her and not looking back.

Joey still feels the undeniable connection between them but determined to protect her heart from being broken again by trying to push him away.
There are details of the night following the accident that Jackson has kept to himself all these years and telling her could ruin everything.

This book is the perfect ending to the series and just as good at the other books, full of love, laughs, pigheadness, tears and happiness

THE CHARACTERS AND PLOT DIDN'T QUITE DELIVER

The Last Second Chance, by Lucy Score was an ok read. Although, I think by book three, the whole scenario has become a little tired, repetitive and this one seemed to lack the passion and interest of the first two books.
High school sweethearts, Jax and Joey parted when, Joey was hospitalised after a car accident. Initially supportive, Jax suddenly abandoned her without a word and naturally she was heartbroken. It was an eight year absence, so how could Joey ever forgive him?
The thread of their back-relationship that has appeared throughout the series just didn't really deliver in their journey in this book. And while the conclusion was good, the resolution of their problem was a bit predictable and unimaginative.
Nevertheless, I have downloaded book four and hope that two fresh characters and a new plot will give the series a kick start again.

I don't often read contemporary as most storylines are done to death but this book was so worth reading as it is not full of silly angst but gritty reality.
What a delightful read this book was. A really pleasing easy to read story that had me laughing out loud in quite a few places and I came away wanting more.
Loved all the characters in this book and even though this story is about Jax and Joey, it flowed well with and around the family dynamic.
Joey was a very likeable character that did not drive me crazy with over melodrama. She acted as most of us would have given the same circumstances.
There are so many shades of grey to Jax’s side of the story and Joey’s father takes some of the blame too, but it was a balanced telling of how things could happen in life and people’s reactions to them.
I adored the letters from Jax’s father, they were heart rending, wonderful and just perfection, even a bit teary.
I plan to read the books prior to this one and have joined the authors newsletter.
Overall a very good enjoyable read
This is my honest review of this book from Hidden Gems.
