Cute, sexy, steamy, wonderfully easy and fun Penny Wylder read... ‘Drink Me Up’ was a great enemies to lovers romance. I loved Darius and Holly and the Romeo and Juliet similarities (thankfully with a happier ending!). Holly and Darius are both from prominent wine-producing families. Enemies and competitors who are thrown together for a week-long wine event.
Chemistry overtakes and common sense goes out the window... ‘This can’t happen. I cannot start lusting after my worst enemy. But as I turn back around to watch him climb down the ladder after me, all I can think about are his words. I’m not sure I want to continue doing things the way my family does. And his parting reminder. Are you forgetting what happened in France?’
Feuding families, but a relationship that's too hot to ignore. Drama, passion and sabotage will keep you turning the pages. Hot and sexy! It's well written with great characters and an entertaining storyline.
The story of Darius and Holly is a tale of overcoming preconceived notions and family biases whilst still having chemistry and heat. Loved the characters and the conflicting emotions Holly feels and the support and persistence of Darius Well written and interesting plot. Will be reading again soon.
This was an okay book. I liked the enemies to lovers aspect but I felt it was never explained why Darius didn’t like the way his dad went about business. I felt like that was the missing element to totally Darius for me. Also, I have to admit, I skimmed the last sex scene. It was overly repetitive and I wanted something different, or perhaps, not this at all. Again, if there had been something to differentiate it from all the others maybe I wouldn’t have, but it didn’t. So overall this was a good enemies to lovers book, but just missing that something extra to take it to the next level.
