i liked this story a lot. This author has a gift. Her writing is very clean, a joy to read. No extraneous words. Reading is like slipping effortlessly through the story with no hitches, no distractions. So perhaps a nod to the editor too. Its a beautiful story around the drama of the worst thing that could happen to an artist..dramatically losing her sight, and the timely arrival of someone who can steer her through the terror to a worthy future. i loved the side characters just as much as the two lovers. Especially the neighbour girl Pam, and grandma Naomi. The pacing was perfect. Enough tension without being dramatically contrived. All in all i sailed through this book completely enthralled with not only the love story but how the hurdles of blindness were negotiated. I'd also reccommend the historical romances by this author writing as Lily Hammond.
