Done and Dusted in spectacular fashion as always by Katie Reus. Chasing Vengeance is the last in the Redemption Harbor series I have seriously loved every single adventure with these guys as they saved each other time and time again, fell in love and became a sold made-themselves family, this team really proves family isn't always blood true family is the one you build with your heart and lots of love.
Layla and Xavier are an awesome and somewhat confusing couple, Layla is totally in the dark and over a lifetime of being abandoned and made to feel worthless, Xavier is a sweetheart, a hitman and a guy who needs to be slapped on the head a few times... lol
I do love these guys they are both firey and even when the bullets are flying they are stronger together it just takes Xavier a while to figure that one out, I have to say I also love his Abuela she was an awesome character.
Layla is attempting to start over in Redemption Harbor with the help of her bestie and lots of wine and since her and relationships don’t mix she has no business fantasizing about her sexy and funny new friend, Xavier. A good hitman has no business forging a personal life and no matter how much he wants Layla, wanting her puts a target on her back and Xavier is determined to keep her safe.
The final book in the Redemption Harbor is an exciting, explosive and emotional story that holds readers captive from the very beginning. Xavier and Layla are strong, vivid characters that are full of volatile chemistry that flows from the pages as they easily draw readers into their tempestuous romance. Xavier and Layla prove the adage that opposites attract in that Layla is quite feisty and Xavier is reserved but there is no denying the sparks and the magnetic attraction between these two as they navigate the their rocky relationship which if full of emotional turmoil as Xavier is determined to stay away.
This fast paced and smooth flowing plot steadily builds up the thrilling suspense with adrenaline pumping action and unexpected twists that ensure that the hero and heroine along with the readers are surprised. During all the excitement of this story, readers may want to pay special attention to an explosive car chase and the creative way Xavier puts a stop to it (chills). While readers are sad that the series is ending, they can’t help but enjoy this spectacular conclusion from beginning to end.
The final book in the Redemption Harbour series is here and it’s left me with a bittersweet feeling💔
Layla is Nova’s bestie that we met in the previous book, when Nova goes to Layla to help her out of her precarious position. Now, those troubles are over and she’s starting over in Redemption Harbour with her bestie. However, even though she wants to move on, it appears one of her connections has brought danger to her life and once again she’s fighting for normalcy.
Xavier has tried to remain friends with Layla and ignored his attraction to her, for as long as he can. When danger comes to town, he assumes it’s possible one of his enemies has come to make him pay and he quickly steps in to help protect Layla❣️
Loved this story and sad to see the end of this series😢 A big thank you to Katie, the publisher and Netgalley for my advanced copy for which I leave my honest and voluntarily given review.
The final book in the redemption Harbor series and this one ended with a bang no whimpers here So often Authors take a series and make it too long so that it becomes the same thing over and over just with different names but Katie Reus never fell into this trap.
This is Xander and Layla's story. Xander is an ex hit man he now works for Redemption Harbor Consulting team a company where not all the employees are good but they are all determined to do good. He doesn't believe that with his past he is good enough for Layla so when he meets her at Axels wedding he firmly places her in the friend zone. Layla has had a tough time and she wants Xander he needs to step up as he is super protective but when danger strikes he realises that he will need to protect her and that maybe he can be the man for her.
